Indexing is for everyone! Whether you are new to family history or are one of the people who claim that "my family history work was all done by great Aunt Patty," there is always plenty of work to do with indexing. And with today's tools, online indexing is easy. So whether you are looking for a fun, new, full-time hobby or if you just want to pitch in when you can, there are plenty of projects to get involved in and many can be done in as few as ten minutes.

Family History Night - Friday, March 14th @ 6:00 pm

Just a reminder to mark your calendars and invite your friends and neighbors to our Family History Night on Friday, March 14th at 6:00 pm. This will be an adults-only, informal affair designed to introduce a few tools, share stories, and get people interested in the richly rewarding work of family history. In order to bribe the lesser motivated among us, we will have light hors d'oeuvres (smoked brisket) and some delicious dessert. It will be well worth your time.

10 Easy Ways You Can Share Your Testimony Online

1. Participate in ward discussions at : http://wwwmissionaries.blogspot.com/, http://willowwoodhpg.blogspot.com/, http://willowwoodreliefsociety.blogspot.com/

2. Create a personal blog and post uplifting messages and invitations

3. Create your own profile and share your testimony on Mormon.org

4. Post your favorite scriptures, personal pictures and experiences on FaceBook, Twitter, SnapChat, Google+, and other Social Media.

5. Get inspired by visiting  MormonChannel.org and share hundreds of your favorite videos, quotes, and scriptures prepared by the church.

6. Create your own content: create a brief personal introduction / video, missionary pictures, mission call videos, baptism photos, etc. and share with others on FaceBook and YouTube.

7. “Like” and “Follow” the living prophets whose biographies and recent articles are posted alongside an easy “share” button on lds.org.

8. Encourage youth to visit and share age-appropriate content from lds.org/youth.

9. Actively participate in genealogy research at FamilySearch.org.

10. Join the many volunteers who are supporting the work of the Lord through online service by serving one of the hundreds of 5-minute callings at vineyard.lds.org.

Creating Your Personal Profile on Mormon.org

Here are five easy steps for creating your own LDS profile and sharing your testimony online:

1. If you haven’t already done so, you will need to create your own LDS account by visiting https://ldsaccount.lds.org/site/register?isMember=true.

2. Enter Membership record Number (MRN) and date of birth. (You can find your MRN on your temple recommend, any official personal church report, or from your Ward Clerk).

3. Fill out the form provided and accept the terms and conditions.

4. Once you have created your LDS account you can login to mormon.org and include additional personal information and participate in online discussions by posting your responses to frequently asked questions.

5. If you need help at any time, click the pink “Chat With Us” button to connect to a live missionary support person.

TIP FROM THE MISSION FIELD: Use Gospel Lingo in your everyday speech and online comments. When you use unfamiliar terms like "Elders Quorum" "Priesthood" "General Conference" etc, people end up saying, "what’s that?" then you can bear simple testimony and define the principle, thus opening the door for them to learn more about it!

Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ Online

“Verily, thus saith the Lord unto you my servant: Go ye, go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature that cometh under the sound of your voice.” Doctrine & Covenants 80:1

Centering on Christ

Be sure to focus on that relationship that is most fruitful as you share the gospel: your relationship with Jesus Christ. As you look for new and effective ways to bring others to Christ, remember to always follow the Spirit’s promptings so that you can share the good news in a spirit of charity.

Look for the Links

The number of ways you can share online information is growing rapidly, while it is almost impossible to keep up with the many options, the church is doing a great job at creating content and making it easy to share. You don’t have to master all of the social media options but you should find one or two you like and when you see  them next to appropriate content, bearing your testimony is only a click away.

Hastening the Work

What a remarkable time it is to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints! Less than one year ago our beloved prophet, Thomas S. Monson, announced a small, but impactful change in our current missionary program. Since that announcement, bishops' schedules have been filled with interviews with those desired to serve. As the initial wave of new missionaries quickly overfilled the available space at the missionary training centers around the world, the graduating class of 2013 was waiting eagerly in the wings waiting for their calling, training, and departure date. Fifty-eight new missions were created and over 20,000 stripling warriors answered the call.

Hastening the Work of the LordAs these new missions, new mission presidents, and new missionaries studied, prayed, and prepared to begin their full-time service, the tide of missionary work began to swell and push forward. Now it is our turn to be prepared so we can do our part to help these full-time servants of the Lord Jesus Christ hasten the work. As President Holland so eloquently stated, no longer can we watch this group of missionaries and longingly say "There they go" but we, ourselves, are required to roll up our sleeves, study, pray, and prepare as the real impact becomes even more pronounced in our own neighborhoods because "Here they come".
